Built from real frustration
This was not built from a boardroom idea. It came from a real moment of needing help, feeling stuck, and realizing many people probably feel the same way.
About needing.help
needing.help was born from a simple but frustrating experience: moving to Mauritius and realizing how hard it can be to find reliable service providers when something goes wrong.

The story
After spending 45 years in Canada, I moved to Mauritius and experienced a cultural shock I was not expecting. Not because of the beauty of the island, the people, or the pace of life β but because of how difficult it was to find reliable local help when I actually needed it.
When you need a plumber, electrician, roofer, cleaner, handyman, or someone to fix something urgent, the process can feel scattered. You ask around. You message people. You search Facebook. You wait for replies. You hope someone knows someone.
And sometimes, you are simply left feeling helpless.
Why is there not an easier way to find trusted local service providers nearby?
That question became the beginning of needing.help.
This was not built from a boardroom idea. It came from a real moment of needing help, feeling stuck, and realizing many people probably feel the same way.
In Mauritius, a lot still happens through word of mouth, WhatsApp, Facebook groups, and personal recommendations. needing.help brings that local trust into one simple place.
The goal is simple: help people find reliable services without feeling lost, overwhelmed, or dependent on βsomeone who knows someone.β
The idea
Open the app, choose what you need, and discover nearby service providers based on area, availability, category, and trust.
Choose a service like plumbing, electrical, cleaning, roofing, or handyman help.
See local providers around you, with service details, availability, and profile information.
Call, WhatsApp, or send a request without wasting time searching everywhere else.
Building in public
needing.help is starting with a simple mission: make it easier for people in Mauritius to find reliable local help. The product will grow with feedback from customers, service providers, and the community.
